Karla obtained her Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Criminology in 2023 from Western Sydney University. Karla is currently a Law Graduate with an expected admission to practice date of July 2024. Karla commenced employment with Sterling Legal in March 2024. Karla has previously worked closely to the Federal Courts and is experienced in the procedural matters of court proceedings. Karla works in a range of areas in law, but has a particular passion for Family Law, mainly specialising in financial settlement. Karla is also interested in both commercial law matters and probate. Karla’s background in Criminology and work experience at Legal Aid has provided her with the skills to handle her clients with care, sensitivity, and empathy, whilst also ensuring their rights are protected. Karla prioritises each of her clients and values communicating with her clients on a regular basis. Karla’s areas of expertise in Family Law includes the following: 1. Financial settlement of the matrimonial asset pool after separation; 2. Seeking and enforcing Judgment of the court; 3. Parenting matters, including negotiating arrangements, dispute resolution and seeking orders; and 4. Family violence, abuse and unacceptable risk towards a child including financial abuse, emotional and physical abuse.
